✨ What remains when we step aside?
What stays with us, and what remains with the institution?
As I approach the end of my mandate at the European Commission Representation in Romania, this is the question that has been accompanying me.
Five years in public service pass both slowly and quickly. Slowly, because meaningful change unfolds over time. Quickly, because roles, however visible, are only entrusted to us for a while.
I remain deeply grateful for the platform I tried to use to the best of my ability: to accompany Romania’s European path, to support dialogue on Europe in the country, and to hold space for the voices and causes that deserved to be heard.
Public office teaches a simple lesson over time: power is never possession. It is stewardship. And it is sustained by trust, cooperation, and the willingness to continue building together.
