It was an honor to connect (even though through video) with so many ambitious young minds and share insights on the vital role of entrepreneurship in Europe’s future. My message to them!
As the Head of the European Commission Representation in Romania, I am inspired by the energy, creativity, and determination of young people I meet—qualities that give me great confidence in the future of both Romania and the European Union.
Entrepreneurship is at the heart of Europe’s success and well-being. It powers innovation, creates jobs, and drives economic growth. Start-ups and small businesses make up 99% of all companies in the EU, underscoring the importance of nurturing an environment where new ideas can thrive and benefit everyone. Supporting young entrepreneurs is not just about individual success; it’s about fostering a culture of innovation that fuels our collective progress.
Through EU initiatives like Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs (in its 15th year!) and Startup Europe, we are equipping young innovators with the skills, resources, and networks they need to succeed.
Financial programs like Horizon Europe, the European Innovation Council, and InvestEU provide essential funding to bring bold ideas to life. And with initiatives such as Startup Europe, we connect young entrepreneurs to mentors, investors, and incubators across the continent to help them scale their businesses and reach new heights.
Additionally, I am excited about the President’s Youth Advisory Board, a new platform to amplify young voices and bring their perspectives directly to EU policymaking.
To all young entrepreneurs: seize these opportunities, build connections, and leverage the resources at your disposal! You are not just starting businesses—you are building the future, leading the green and digital transitions, and creating solutions that will benefit generations to come.
